UX Joining Skyteam Update?!

Tue Mar 22, 2005 6:19 am

About a year ago there was a post about the possibility that Air Europa would be joining Skyteam. Does anyone have any updates in terms of the possibility of this happening? I certainly would benefit from it and I think Air Europa, as a growing carrier would prove to be advantageous to Skyteam. I know that Delta and Air Europa along with other Skyteam members will share the T2 terminal in MAD once the move to T4 and satellite is complete, so is this a sign of more to come?

One of the various threads that discussed this issue had also a post by a Spanish a.netter who said that definitely UX was not going to join SkyTeam. I really don't know what we should expect but it is a fact that UX cooperates with several SkyTeam members like CO, AF, AM, and maybe KL. I would personally like to see UX in the alliance but I think it looks unlikely. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with SkyTeam or with UX can give us an update.

I read on Aviation Daily today that UX is planning to be in Skyteam by the Summer and that they are also planning a code share with Portugalia as soon as they break away from their alliance with TAP.

What about Aeroflot and China Southern joining Skyteam?

The more the merrier for me.
Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!
