2nd Terminal At DUB

Wed Mar 23, 2005 10:15 am

Ryanir CEO, Micheal O' Leary has been protesting for a new, privately-owned 2nd Terminal at DUB for some time now and has appeared on the irish TV programm, Questions & Answers tonight?

For those of you who are familiar with the saga, what are your thoughts on the proposal?

FR have always argued the case for a second terminal at DUB and have even said they would pull out if they didn't get it. With STD becoming more and more popular with FR, It may happen.

The proposed terminal would lie west of the current terminal, running 'between' rwy 10/28 & 11/29
Aer Lingus, Proud to be Irish.

The only reason a new terminal is a good idea is if it run by someone else apart from the Dublin Airport Authority. Then competition comes into play, though it will make it less convenient for passengers who have to change terminals. If the DAA is to get the contract, they would be better off extending pier C and rebuilding pier A.
