Study: Planes Over NYC Flying Too Close

Wed Mar 23, 2005 9:04 pm

As reported by 1010wins.com, a popular news radio station in NY, there seems to be a problem with planes flying to close to one another in NYC. Check out the staffing #'s for NY TRACON, what the staffing level is supposed to be, and the actual number of controllers they presently have, should this be a concern to the flying public? Here is the link.

Until the FAA gets their act together in terms of hiring more controllers, then this problem will become all-too common for NYC as well as other major centers.
Twinjets...if one fails, work the other one twice as hard!!!

It talks about planes closer than three miles-- they're talking about planes approaching the same runway being less than three miles in trail?
