Dear friends, although I haven't use the airplane to get to Tivat, I have a lot of things to say about aviation at Tivat Airport in Montenegro.
The Airport is in a pretty good shape but with very low traffic. The only airplanes I saw were the ones from JAT opertaing Belgrade and an ATR72 from Air Srpska leased from JAT. As I said the traffic is not heavy, only a few planes a day BUT a unique occasion to see the JAT's B727 in action so close. Above the 727 Jat operates DC9 ( I saw only one in two weeks there) the 737 and the ATR72. Due to the bad weather conditions the use to land in a "old way" above the city just near my house. It was such a pleasure seeing those planes, and I repeat especially the 727. It looks so heavy, elegant and VERY noisy but a nice plane. Except for one B733 all aircrafts were plain white (due to frequent leaseeing) and that was the boring thing. Now JAT is full of hope because they restart European services. Wish them luuck.
Montenegro Airlines operates the winter season exclusevly from Podgorica so no Fokker's at Tivat. Just a Citation X of the President Mr. Milo Djukonavic, brand new and shiny parked.
Thank's for reading.
