Britannia Aircraft At EMA

Sat Mar 26, 2005 4:00 am

Does anybody know which aircraft Britannia / ThomsonFly will be basing at East Midlands this summer? Its usually two or three 767's and maybe a 757. The reason I ask is that I've booked myself today on BY315A from EMA - ACE and was wondering which aircraft I would get!
Thanks for any info!

In past years they have based a 757-200 and a 767-300 there for the summer.

Would a 763 operate to Ibiza, or Menorca from East Mids? If they were to operate one this year? To be honest, to 763 is the last thing I want, because we are a party of 3.

Thanks, Ryan

Signal, I would imagine both flights will be 757. Ibiza may warrant a 767 peak season, but I'm sure its 757. Can't see Menorca having enough pax to justify a 767.

Ibiza sometimes needs the high density especially late July/August.

Oh well you will probably get the new style interior with a little extra room due to the seat pocket being moved.

Does anybody know when they plan to have all the aircraft, well B752 and B762 refitted by?

I flew on a B757 last October (2004) G-CDUO and that had the new seats (leather with the new style) but still had the old fittings. Was really comfortable though!

Hi, There

The following information was provided in a past post by BALboy

Quoting BALboy (Reply 14):
I will try to clarify, although I'm no expert and can only tell you what we have been told..

All 20 757's to have new leather seating by 01/05/05
At least 10 of the 757's to have the enhanced interior by 01/05/05
All 4 762 to have enhanced interior by 01/05/05
All Aircraft will be TUI blue and white (including AR ex Air Holland) by 01/05/05. The majority of which will be Thomsonfly.com, but a few will still say Thomson.co.uk. No classic livery left.

Forgot to mention... mixed model flying by 2006 with the intergration of TOM and BY

Regards, Ryan

I have to agree. I believe the seats look better than the striped effect.

What! Those stripes looked great!

Honestly, I preferred the stripes to the basic blue leather. They could have had White and Blue striped leather seats maybe? Actually, I think the stripes are my favorite Interior ever!  At least they had some character!

Here's a tribute to them: Stripes 2001-2005 R.I.P

I really think I'm a bit of a garnish person, as I also loved the JMC Interior, and their overall trademark of Lime Green and Blobs.

Have a look at the JMC cabin here:

  • The JMC interior Economy

  • The JMC interior Economy

  • The JMC interior Premium+

I must say how nice they look!

By The way, are there any ThomasCook Aircraft which still have the JMC interior?

  • I have recently started a website of my own for MyTravel Airways, its not finished as there is still alot of things to include (pics and all that), but I would appriciate it if you could have a look and experess you opinions. Thanks. View it here: My MyTravel website- FlyTravel

I also liked the jmc interior, the branding on board was also pretty cool. I gather though the colours weren't all that easy to keep clean, showed up the dirt easily. Sure theres no Thomas Cook aircraft still with jmc interiors. In Summer 2003 it was nearly all Thomas Cook with a handful of jmc, then in winter 03/04 they were all changed. Wasn't too big an issue, carpet change and seat cover change.
