Virgin Atlantic 747 In Tampa 3/26/05

Sun Mar 27, 2005 6:42 am

Today at around 3:20pm, I was driving by TPA and noticed a Virgin Atlantic 747-200 parked at the F Concourse. I'm not sure why it was here, but two fire units were parked behind the aircraft. I looked on FlyteComm and FlightArrivals.com and did not see anything showing it landing. I know the 200's are used for the Manchester to Orlando flight, so it may have been a weather diversion. The weather is Tampa was ok, but who knows!

Does anyone know what was up?

It'll be G-VSSS (still operating ex-MAN for the next 5 weeks, give or take tech/weather problems).

Today's VS76 into MAN was in reality VS50 which operated MCO-MAN-LGW (with the MAN-LGW sector being VS50).

My relatives were lucky then....they were on VS027 from LGW yesterday, and I followed their flight on www.fboweb.com. They flew to Charleston, SC, and then made a turn back to the NE and flew for about 20-30 miles I think, turned back to the SW towards MCO, and ended up continuing towards MCO. I thought perhaps they would have diverted to either CLT or possibly ATL. I knew that weather was really bad, as my parents who are vacationing down there were driving south on I-95 and it was stopped cold. They ended up taking an alternate route to MCO, and got there just in time to meet VS027.
And the winner for best actress is....REESE WITHERSPOON for 'Walk the Line'!!!!!!!!
