AA International Routes

What international routes did AA acquire through the TWA takeover? Are there any dormant routes that could be brought back into service? What about the following cities that TWA flew to from either JFK or STL?

Vienna
Geneva
Lisbon
Cairo
Tel Aviv
Athens
Copenhagen
Amsterdam
Munich
Berlin
Budapest
Bombay
Bangkok
Manila

I am sure there are others, but I just pulled these off old TWA time tables. Did they sell off most of these routes prior to the AAcquisition, or did they simply cease service to these locations? Seems like there are a few lucrative options out there that AA could operate?

I am not suggesting that AA should start service to any or all of these destinations, just wondering if they still own route authorities for them.

TWA was not doing so good when AA took them over. So I would imagine many of those routes were gone when AA took them over. I think AA wanted there Domestic system more.

AA would kill if they extended a NRT flight to BKK. Right now tons of people are forced to take JALways or CX in order to stay loyal to OW.

The Open-skies agreements between the US and many nations, have rendered many authorities held by TWA, moot to AAmerican.

But TWA still maintained a butt-load of route authorities, which are now AAmerican AAirlines.

AA would not have 5th freedom on that flight and would kill nothing but their profits.

Why does AA not put to use these international routes, especially in Asia, where they could easily expand and create more revenue?

One of the mysteries of the airline industry. Such as, if they already hold authority to serve India via the routes they picked up via TWA, why did they have to reapply to serve India recently (as reported in another thread)? Was it to activate city pairs within the authority? I don't know really--one would have to read the DOT route applications for all the technical details (and they're freely available on the web). Someone else may even know the answer off the top of their head.

A second answer is the list of US International Route Authorities is 149 pages long, single-space typed. It's obvious not every route authorized could be flown profitably.

I guess it's just how they handed out the routes. There seems to be a pattern in it though, when a Chicago authority was granted, Rockford, IL was granted at the same time, and then Oakland and San Jose with San Francisco. Illogical one would think nowadays, but I'm sure there was a reason for it at the time.
