Qantas777, I really think you need to get off the fence and tell us how you REALLY feel about them. Seriously - don't hold it in; that's not good for you. Let us know what your thoughts are.  Wink

I can see where they are coming from, but I do think it is not all that smart to upgrade all flights to an A319. I personally think it would have been better if one or two were upgraded. On the other hand, I am glad the are experimenting.

They didn't upgrade all their CLT frequencies to the A319; three of eight daily round-trips will use the A319.

Qantas,

If all you have to do is post things like this on A.net, take it somewhere else. Your opinion is of course appreciated, but your post is childish and immature.

Seriously... take a pill.

On that note, I am also glad to see FlyI experimenting. Given the strong loads on the CLT flights, I do not think this is a bad idea at all-- I think the CLT 319s could end up on point to point, perhaps Florida runs in the not too distant future.

Charlotte loads are very strong. And I think its a good thing to be trying this out. Plus, this event isn't going to single handedly put them out of business. If it doesn't work for them in the first month I'm sure they will go back to the RJ's.

Lets just wait and see before we jump to conclusions.

It's called USAviation.com, if you haven't been booted from there. I prefer this site as the traffic is much better, but it is a nice refuge.
Looking forward to the new AA

Burnsie,

Last month loads were in the 60s as far as percents, with strong advanced bookings.

I'm glad you are continuing to just rag on FlyI.
Seriously, why do so many people have something against them?
You have to admire them for attempting to do something that has never been done before in the US airline industry. Lets give them a chance.

Now thing about it, they simply doing what other airlines do....match capacity with demand. Obviously the have seen strong demand out of CLT to IAD. They feel that they can fill up 125 seats on some flights. Now why is this any different than any of the other airlines out there?????? F9 runs A319's, B6 runs some A320 on intrastate NY routes. Afterall CLT and the D.C area as some hefty O&D numbers. Also FlyI provides the only low fare service out of CLT with connections to numerous destinations in the Northeast. Fares on many of these routes are rather high on US and if FlyI can offer low-fares with a connection, they whats wrong with what they are doing?

I think the move in CLT is due to the still oppressive US airfares for CLT originating passengers, combined with AirTran arriving in CLT come May, and flying two direct flights per day to BWI, not far from FlyI's hub at IAD.

But it is a little strange though... Late last year they cut two flights per day our of CLT. Go figure.
