"Wings Of Pride"

Sat Apr 02, 2005 6:35 am

I just read a post regarding Delta's employee purchased 767-200 "Spirit of Delta" Didn't TWA employees do a similar thing with a MD-83 "Wings of Pride"? Does anyone know if AA still operates the ex TWA MD-83?

It's still in service with American Airlines. It was later re-registered as N948TW from EI-BWD.

If you do a search in the photobase for EI-BWD you'll see plently of photos of it in a reversed TWA c/s.

Here's a pic of it in the "Wings of Pride" c/s:

Later it was repainted into the last TWA c/s, but stayed registered as EI-BWD. It still carried small "Wings of Pride" titles though:

It was re-registered as N948TW back in April 2001. Of course American Airlines took the aircraft during the merger of December 2001:
