As I recall, after UA 232, there was no mandatory order from the FAA or any re-design brought on by McDonnell Douglas regarding the DC-10's hydraulic system.
One thing to remember is that while the DC-10 had numerous fatal crashes due to mechanical/maintenance problems (AA at ORD, UA at SUX, THY outside Paris), I don't recall any fatal mechanically related L-1011 crashes. In fact, the two I do recall (EA at MIA, and Saudia in Jeddah/Riyadh) were due to pilot error and passenger stupidity.
Nevertheless, I have enjoyed my DC-10 rides as well the L-1011, I'm just partial to the 1011.
