I am flying on AA's nonstop service from LGA-MSY on May 10th. I have a few questions about the flight. First, how is AA doing on the route when competeing against US and B6 (from JFK)? Also, is there any way of knowing if the plane will be an MD80 or MD83, and will it have MRTC.? Thanks for any help.

Quoting LGAtoIND (Thread starter):
MD80 or MD83

Although I cannot answer what type, it would be an MD82 or MD83.......MD80 is a generic classification for the various types such as 82, 83, 87, 88 etc.

AA has been flying this route for a couple of years now. During the slower summer season they offer one nonstop a day. The rest of the year they have two nonstops. They seem to be holding their own in the market, after all, there are only a handful of daily flights from LGA to MSY.
