US Airways Adds Flights For Formula 1 In YUL, IND

ARLINGTON, Va., April 5, 2005 -- US Airways Express will expand its schedule June 9-20, 2005, to accommodate thousands of racing fans expected to attend this year’s Formula 1TM Grand Prix races in Montreal and Indianapolis. Flights will be added between both race sites and four key US Airways airports: Charlotte, N.C., New York LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Between June 9 and June 13, US Airways Express will increase its schedule of flights between Philadelphia and Montreal, where the Grand Prix du Canada will be held. US Airways Express will add two regional jet roundtrips on Thursday, June 9, bringing the total to eight. US Airways Express will also add one roundtrip flight per day from June 10-13, 2005, when race fans are expected to return home. The additional flights will be operated by Mesa Airlines.

For the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis, US Airways Express will add flights to and from four cities between Thursday, June 16 and Monday, June 20, 2005.

Between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, the airline will add a roundtrip flight on June 16, 17 and 20, operated by Chautauqua Airlines, bringing the total to five regional jet round trips each day.

To serve race fans using New York’s LaGuardia Airport, the airline will add an inbound flight to Indianapolis on June 17 and an outbound flight on June 19, as well as two additional roundtrips on June 20, all operated by Chautauqua Airlines. Normally, the flight schedule includes seven roundtrips on weekdays and six on Sunday.

Between Indianapolis and Philadelphia, US Airways Express will add three roundtrip flights on June 16 and June 17, bringing the total number of roundtrips to eight each day. On June 20, the airline will add three roundtrip flights as well as an additional outbound flight. The additional flights will be operated by Mesa Airlines.

Between Indianapolis and Charlotte, the airline will add three roundtrips and one additional inbound flight on June 16, bringing the total number of inbound flights to 10. It will add four roundtrip flights on June 17, an extra inbound flight on June 18, a roundtrip and an inbound flight on June 19 and three roundtrips plus an inbound flight on June 20. These extra flights will be on 70-seat regional jets operated by PSA Airlines.

US Airways and US Airways Express operate 31 daily nonstop roundtrip flights at Indianapolis International Airport, with seven daily flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, six daily flights to both Charlotte and Philadelphia, and four daily each to Boston, Pittsburgh, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. At Montreal-Trudeau Airport, US Airways operates six nonstop roundtrip flights to Philadelphia.
