B777-200 VS B777-300

Wed Apr 06, 2005 3:52 pm

I was wondering if the B777-300 was made to hold more people then the B777-200 or go longer distances? It seems to me they cover the same distance.

The 773 certainly carries more PAX, typical 3 class is 365 while the 772 is around 301.

The standard 773A doesn't fly nearly as far as the 772ER can which is the main version of the 772. The 773ER though can fly almost as far as the 772ER. While the 772LR will beat any other exsiting aircraft.

Top info ZK-NBT. The 777-300 variant is one long bird, and looks fantastic in the Emirates livery as pictured above.

Cheers,
Ian.

Yeah, the 777-200A was the first out and had a range of around 4100Nm if I'm not correct with about 305pax. The 777-300A was next and was basically a stretch of the -200 and carries around 368pax.

And of course now there is the 777-200ER, 777-200LR and 777-300ER, all which have alot larger ranges for a similar number of passengers.

Monteycarlos has some good info on the 777 he sent me but I can't find it. I'm sure if you want it he'll probably send it to you.

Still dreaming of being a QF 744 pilot?

Which almost no one actually does. CO in a 2 class configuration only flies their 772ERs with 283.

5210nm for the 772A, 5995nm for the 773A. Confused as to why? The 773 offers significantly more thrust than the 772A (as much or more than the 772ER) as well as more fuel than is needed to overcome the weight gain. And again, they don't carry that many people

EK also flies their 777s with an atypical 3-4-3 configuration in the back, which is not the design configuration (2-5-2 or 3-3-3). Typical 3 class on the 772 is 220-250 while it is 260-290 on the 773
