Need CDG Info Urgently

Thu Apr 07, 2005 11:55 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering how long it would take to get from terminal 2C to 2F - changing from an international to a domestic Air France flight?

My itinerary for Monday/Tuesday 11/12 Avril is:

QF433 - Sydney to Melbourne
QF387 - Melbourne to Singapore (British Airways)
QF3977 - Singapore to Paris (Air France - arrives at 630am)

I then need to change to a flight to Nice. AF is offering flights at 7am, 720, 730, 8am, 830, 9am....
Which flight should I book for the Paris to Nice leg considering I need to get from Terminal 2C to 2F?

Many thanks,

QFF

It really depends on how risk-averse you are. If your flight arrives on time, there is no queue at passport control, you can move quickly, and you can speak and understand French, then you might make it in 30 minutes. If you want a leisurely, hassle-free experience with little risk, and you can amuse yourself while waiting, then book a two hour interval.

Since you are connecting there is a bus service that goes from terminal to terminal wich is always the best bet. Just follow the signs for transfers, you also might want to ask the flight attendents on the Air France plane they would no.

I say you book the 9:00 flight just to keep it safe.

Good luck!

The legal connecting time is 45 minutes.

If your scheduled arrival is 06h30, then the first flight you can take is at 07h15 or later. I would allow for 1h20 minutes to be comfortable.

For changing terminals you have 2 options:

Option 1:
Upon entering the terminal, you must pass passport control ... after that, look for the bus symbols and the word "correspondances" which means "transfers" or "connections" in French. The transfer bus will take you around from 2C to 2A to 2B to 2D to 2F, in that direction.

Option 2:
You can exit the terminal completely and walk from 2C to 2F. Out of 2C, follow signs first towards 2E. Then in the middle of 2E, there is a connection on the lower level between 2E which will bring you direclty to 2F. This may even be faster than the bus.

BE ADVISED, your aircraft from Singapore can arrive at any terminal. It could arrive at an actual terminal or it could arrive on a hard stand, upon which you will be bussed to the terminal.

I suspect you are right. I shall book the 900 flight.

Thanks NYC, although this will be a somber occasion. The 12th will be spent visiting the Prince in state at the church and then there is the funeral on the 15th which I will not be attending but my wife and parents-in law may be. I'll be the resident child-minder during all the goings on.

 no  That's flights from ORLY.

Flights CDG-NCE on April 12 are :

07:20AM AF7700
10:35AM AF7702
12:35PM AF7704

So I advise you to book on AF 7702 leaving CDG at 10:35AM.
You could make it on the flight at 07:20 but baggages will not...

Note that your flight back to SIN will leave from CDG2C, this doesn't mean that you will automatically arrive from SIN at CDG2C. It will be the case if your a/c is parked on a remote parking stand but if the aircraft is parked at the Terminal, it will depend on the next destination assigned to your airplane.

In any case, don't worry and don't believe all what you'll read about tranfers at CDG on this forum  Wink
your connection at 6:30 in the morning will be easy and you will have more than enough time if you take your flight at 10:35.

Have a nice trip on board AF's B773ER !

When Flpuck6 mentions that you exit the terminal, it does not mean that you will be outdoors. It means that you will be walking through very large corridors, open to natural light and with a good view of the tarmac and aircraft, and using moving walkways. It is quite quick and enjoyable.

Given the fact that 2E and 2F have an additional level compared to 2A, B, C and D, I would suggest an alternative which I usually find easier.

Walk away from 2C towards 2E. When you arrive at the Sheraton / Railway station (before 2E) turn left along the Sheraton and then right towards Terminal 2F. It should be somewhat shorter and easier than the original suggestion, involving just one half level change, instead of having to go down to the lower level of 2E, crossing over to 2F, and going up to the departures level.

Anyway, the 10.35 flight, as suggested by FlySSC will definitely be all right.

Ahhh, yes of course. How utterly stupid of me. Grrrr.

Thank you so much for pointing this out. I've now booked AF7702.
