BA 777 Flights To US: Which Have First Class?

Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:49 am

With conversion of some 777s to 3-class (JWM) configuration, willthe US flights that operate 777s still all offer First Class?

Also, I have never flown First, but it seems from viewing the cabin that the seating in the 777 is much more spacious. In the 747 it is concentrated in the narrow nose and while I am sure that the seats are equivalent, the cabin looks much more dense.

Any comments?

AT,

BA's 777 all have First Class to the USA, expect for DENVER. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The cabin space is possibly more spacious on 777, but the seat is exactly the same on 777 and 747.

Safe flying.

TPA and MCO don't have First

Dont know about IAH, but it flies durect from LGW, or via Chicago from LHR.

Does it have F on the direct LGW flights?

Yes, IAH-LGW has F.

Denver, Tampa, and Orlando do not, as mentioned. The rest all do.

I personally find First on the 747 much nicer....but then I have a preference for the 747 over the T7.

IAH is one of the few routes from LGW which has the full 4-class service.....think there are only 4 routes from LGW that have this.

To serve secondary routes that don't warrant it. Similar to what Air France is doing by designating the 777s for routes that require it while the A330s and A340s will be doing the routes that don't. Only BA don't have an additional fleet type in the same way that Air France do.

Our long-haul 767s are all 3-class service, either First, Club and WT or Club (flat-bed), WTP and WT. Eventually all will have First removed and be reconfigured with Club flat-beds, WTP and WT.

The only 2-class 767s are on our European routes.

Also, BWI is a 3-class service without the First. This route is currently served with a 777, but could possibley revert to 767. The 777s were introduced so that the Club flatbeds could be introduced. This happened around the time that the 767s started being reconfigured.

It shouldn't be that surprising. With the exception of Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston, every long-haul route BA has out of Gatwick is a leisure route.

Baltimore is a 4 Class 777 with First.

Sorry AT, I was only thinking of LHR, my base.

My apologies, having double checked, BWI has been switched to a full 4-class service.

Being stuck at home and having nothing no point of reference other than BA.com, I'd be grateful to know how somebody is supposed to book First class on a flight to BWI.

Easy.

1. Make sure you have at least £ 3,888.50 of credit on your card or in your account
2. Go to http://www.britishairways.com/travel/fx/public/en_gb?prim=booktrip
3. Hop on the plane

BWI will keep F until the 767 conversion is finished.
Currently there are 4 classes of service on the 777 @ BWI.
When the 767 comes back from dusking, it will have 3.
This is per a Customer Service Supervisor at BWI.
