What Is UP With Spirit Airlines?

Just curious, havn't heard to much lately, I just want to hear whats going on in Spirit land.
the rumble of round engines is like music to me,likewise the thunder of thr JT8D

the Airbus equipment is starting to arrive.
Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.

They just started flying non-stop DTW-CUN-DTW on April 8.

I am still wondering if they will start FLL-MEX? They could take lots of passengers from AA, MX and AM in a market where the lowest fare is $460 + tax / return.

They're really an an enigma. Their average yield from NYC to Flordia is $84. They've withstood the Jetblue NYC build up and still managed to stick around.

Spirit is privately held, they don't release financials.

Look for more Carribean/Latin American cities to open starting in the fall. Right now they are concentrating on the Airbus replacement of the MD80's.

They have also managed to hold there own out of DTW as well. The little engine that could.
