My instructor picked me late one afternoon at the Bridgeport, CT
airport and I flew the C-150 back to MacArthur (ISP
). By the time we arrived at ISP
the beacon was on, indicating that night flight conditions were in effect. After I landed the airplane, he told me to stop short of the runway intersections, got a clearance from the tower, got out and sent me on my way.
I didn't know he had planned to have me solo until that moment!! I was too busy concentrating on my flying to get a case of the nerves and so I technically soloed at night!!
I had 14 hours flight time when I soloed.
