NW Regional Nonstops Between Hubs

Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:14 am

I noticed NW is now showing RJs in service non-stop from MEM to DTW in June. Could not find any for MEM-MSP. Was the agreement to allow this made with the last ALPA contract or am I mistaken that hub to hub non main line flying was not allowed? Are their special conditions that allow this?

NWA does have one RJ flight that departs MEM at 6:00am for MSP. My question is why one flight at 1:45pm and another at 1:46pm for MSP? Why not a larger plane?

These additions to the schedule are for extra frequencies outside the "banks" of departures. In their concessionary agreement, the NWA pilots relaxed some of the scope... and this is part of it.

I figured you would be able to answer this one. That early AM flt replaces a -9 that alternated from a -10 or -30 but with -10s gone I guess 50 seats more realistic than 100.

NW has often used "wing tip" flights between these hubs. Usually a different type about 20-30 min apart to capture directional load connections at the other end. MEM seems not get larger than 320s much anymore. Only one 757 on last skd. Most likly these two wing tippers continue to different destinations with a good portion of the passengers going on thus avoiding a connection.
