AA Employee Travel Privileges

Thu Apr 14, 2005 8:08 am

I have an interview with AA and was wondering what type of travel benefits do employees receive? Are parents included like at other carriers? How does F/B class work for non revs? Sorry for all the questions, all answers would be appreciative.

If you get the job, I'm sure they'll be happy to fill you in. If not, well, you won't need to know anyway.  Wink

I'm ex-AA, so this may be old.

Employees get unlimited space available travel, including first and business for a nominal service charge.

Parents and relatives may share 16 one-way trips per year.

You can also desingate buddies, which come out of 16 per year lot.

Upon hiring you will get travel benefits on AA for you, your parents, spouse and children under 25. At 6 months you and all of those mentioned before will have access to ID90s, ZEDs and OneWorld tickets (Discount tickets with all the other One Wolrd Alliance carriers)

Buddy passes are available after 2 years of service now.

Relatives and buddies (after the 2 years of service) share 24 one-way trips a year.

BTW, Good Luck on the interview!  bigthumbsup

Look pal, life’s too short to get upset over something like a silly joke on an open forum. If you feel it was in bad taste, point taken, but calling me an expletive in return only puts you on an even lower level than the original comment.

You now get 24 one-way passes per year for parents and buddies, and you get 12 registered travelers per year. Once you register one person, they stay on your travel profile for a year. The 12 registered travelers do not include your parents, however, your parents and registered companion, if applicable, share those passes. Parents do not have unlimited travel on AA. You, your spouse and children get unlimited travel.

As stated above, you don't get to have "buddies" until two years of service. Also, once you have five years of service, coach fees are waived on all domestic flights.

My question is, do furloughed employees at other airlines maintain thier travel benifits? Mine ran out 3 months after I was furloughed at AA.

I havent gotten crap since I was furloughed two and half years ago. Some of our furloughed f/a's got 3 months severance pay with three months of passes. Some got no severance pay with 2 years of passes. I've heard that furloughed personel at other airlines still get travel benifits. I had to buy a ticket on AA (no choice) for a vacation next month and it about killed me.
