Hello everyone,

As you might have noticed, Airliners.net was down from the 25th of Jan until the 30th of Jan. This was caused by a server problem related to the hard disks on where the photos and webpages are stored. We were unable to fix these problems earlier because the only one with enough knowledge to fix it (yours truly) were on a weeks vacation on the Canary Islands...

It was foolish of us to leave the machine to itself for one week, I admit that. But it's been running without any problems at all for over half a year now and I couldn't imagine that it would choose this particular week to crash. Well, maybe we at least learned something - never trust a machine.

No information was lost though - only some photos uploaded (but not added to the database) during this time. The affected photographers have been contacted and informed about our problems so hopefully things will go back to normal in a few days.

We're sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you and will work hard to make sure it won't happen again.

Johan Lundgren

I've also been missing airliners.net, it's "kind of" my home on the internet.
Welcome back everyone.
I'm glad the problem has been fixed and we can get back to our discussions. I'd like to say many thanks to Johan who solved the problem so that we all can get back together. I've been missing you folks. How've you been?
Glad to be back? Yeah...me too!!!

I'm really glad to know that Johan didn't shut down airliners.net permanently. I thought it might be my browsers, so I e-mailed all the forumites for whom I had e-mail addresses, and they said they couldn't log on either. I'm glad everything's been fixed.

I agree this site so very adictive. It might of been better for me as I had finals all week. The only test I think I passed was my FAA medical!! HE HE HE. I am sure I did better then that.
