I guess this also explains why AA is dropping STL-FLL after 4 Sept....
Quoting FLAIRPORT (Reply 5):
FLL-ATL, FLL-STL, FLL-ORD, FLL-BWI...hmmm! I wonder why they are doing this, going against another LCC on 3 of those 4 and going against Delta on 2 and AA on 2...seems like a death trap.
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 4):
AA isn't dropping FLL-STL. The service is going weekend-only in June. It will resume daily service in December, although that is not yet shown in the schedules.
Quoting BHMNONREV (Reply 11):
The most recent schedule (4/16/05) shows the last SaSu MD-80 service on 9/4/05, with nothing to FLL after that. What do you know that the folks at AA scheduling do not, hmmmm Mark?? Wink
Quoting AA7573E (Reply 1):
USA 3000 does not fly to MDW, only ORD service.
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 6):
There is absolutley no threat to AA, DL, etc. and there will be little, if any, competitive reaction.
Quoting STLGph (Reply 13):
except for drastically reducing fares to match those of USA 3000.
Quoting Mike3000 (Reply 10):
USA3000 is a mix of scheduled and charter service. All of our domestic service is scheduled service with none of the seats pre-sold to vacation companies or cruise ships.
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 12):
Check the schedule again. The SaSu service resumes 10Sep05.
Quoting Stlgph (Reply 18):
Living in St. Louis and being at the airport watching those flights almost always go out full, I have to wonder what is going on there. There are plenty of people from St. Louis that commute back and forth between here and Ft. Lauderdale to second homes or resorts or what have you to fill those planes. Many were irked when it was just one flight a day. The Saturday and Sunday flights will undoubtably be mostly taken up by people going out on cruises, so if you really want to fly American (and a lot of these people I know try to avoid Southwest as much as they can), they'll now have to connect through Chicago or Dallas. I'm surprised they haven't at least put an Eagle flight doing a weekday run.
Quoting STLGph (Reply 15):
I also know that above, I read from an apparent USA 3000 employee, the U.S. domestic services are not pre sold to vacation companies. I have also been told this directly by USA 3000 employees I have chatted with at St. Louis and Cleveland.
Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 19):
AA wants that traffic to use MIA. MIA-STL is now upgauged to two daily 757s. I can confirm that a third daily is like to be put in place in November.
