AA International Back To 70 Pounds!

Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:33 pm

As of today free bagagge allowance from/to International locations in AA is back to 2 pcs of 70lbs each!
As per the information given to employees some goverments requested time to deal/inform about the 50lbs free allowance and AA decided to suspend all charges for bags 51-70lbs starting today.

Hmm, good news, I guess - however, I don't ever recall there being a change in that 70lb policy with AA (and I usually fly with them between BWI and NAS). Thanks for the heads-up  smile

We flew AA on Mar 4 of this year from JFK to NRT.

The agent at check in said they were strictly enforcing the new 50lb rule (thankfully our luggage was far less).

I am glad they are back to 70lbs. That made flying within and to/from North America more civilized (as opposed to the rest of the world's usual 45lb per passenger limit)

Flights to and from Japan never went down to 50lbs.

Apparently they are keeping 100. At least for today. Who knows tomorrow.

Perhaps not in policy, but obviously no one informed the agents at JFK check-in.
