Could You Explain Me This Thing

Tue Apr 11, 2000 7:34 pm

I flew from CDG to Marrakech with a charter flight named AT5563 (not sure of the numbers) (ie) a Royal Air Maroc flight, and the plane we took was a Air Afrique B747-100!
Any response?
Thanks!

Code Sharing

Tue Apr 11, 2000 7:54 pm

It's probably due to an existing code sharing between the two airlines. The code sharing is a system that permits to operates flights of an airline for another and so on. Also this flight AT5563 is operated by Air France for Royal Air Maroc but another flight numbered for example AF5678 will be operated by Royal Air Maroc for Air France.
You flew a 747-100 maybe because of a day with a lot of departing passengers for holidays.
