Right now CO is increasing their flights to Latin America, is CO going to fly one day to EZE, or returning back to SCL?

Wasnt Continental Airlines given the right to fly EWR-EZE a few years back, and they then retracted the request?

Correct. The company applied, and recieved authorization to service EWR-EZE on B762's right in the middle of the last economic crisis.

The company requested that the DOT allow them to shelve the service until conditions improved. DOT refused, and awarded the rights to another carrier, AA, who promptly utilized them on DFW-EZE.

The company has not expressed interest in re-applying for rights to serve the market.

As I said in the other thread, CO will certainly be interested at some point. However they have bigger fish to fry right now. They have found greener pastures in Europe, Asia, and Mexico to an extent. This is different from a few years back when Latin America was there primary international expansion interest.
