China Eastern Incident Closing Narita Runway?

Mon Apr 25, 2005 5:59 am

Hi all,

China Eastern A320 landing incident Apr 22.
A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A320 operating flight MU271 from Beijing to Tokyo blew all 4 tires of its main landing gear as it was landing at Narita Airport this evening around 1915. The aircraft was stuck forcing Narita Airport to close the runway. (www.justplanes.com)

Is the runway back open ? Any injuries or other info ?

Many thanks

It occured on the shorter of the two runways. Probably a hard landing. Surprisingly the aircraft did not veer off the runway. It was shutdown for the night but re-opened the following morning.
