Aloha's Website Redone

Tue Apr 26, 2005 3:29 pm

www.alohaair.com has been redone and it looks pretty nice. Visually on par with Hawaiian now, and seems to have much more functionality and information than before.

Ah, I like this much better.

the old one was okay, but it was nearly 100% flash animation, if not entirely. And that's kind of hard to load on some systems. Plus the page didn't fill the whole screen which was a minor annoyance.

The only bad thing about this new site is that it seems a bit too sterile for Aloha. It reminds me of Midwest's site in a way. Though not quite that bad. Midwest's website is excruciatingly boring, sterile, and businesslike. This one is too businesslike for Aloha. It needs a bit more fun, more colour, considering the airline.

BTW....I notice on the lead article on Aloha's site, that the CEO's name is Banmiller. When did Zander leave?

One of Aloha's assets is its inflight service on Hawaii-Mainland routes. They serve mai tai's and warm cookies--even in economy class. I'm surprised that Aloha doesn't make any reference to this on their web site.

Also, I noticed that Aloha has completely discontinued South Pacific services. I guess they weren't profitable.

Nice interactive route-map. I didn't realize they're not doing HNL/LAS nonstop, I mistakenly thought that was part reorganization plan. Is there only one flight into LAS per day now (via OAK)?

Looking at their map Aloha realy downsized thier routes. I still can't believe why they pulled out of Burbank. It seemed like this route would be profitable because BUR is a very convinient airport for people of LA. I also don't understand why they would keep cities like reno and sacramento going. They also should have kept Vancouver because that is a good market.

I didn't even notice the southpac services were gone. Embarrassment

I hope Aloha eventually rebuilds its mainland and south pacific presence.

It's a lot better than what they had before, but they need to fix some things. They have the same technical information for the -700 and -200. They also have -700 pictures for the -200. Also, why would they only have a seat map for the coach section on the -700? What about first class?

There was more info on the site when I looked last night than there is now. With theie previous 'new site' it was added to and subtracted from quite a bit in tis first two weeks or so. I imagine more info will be put up/rearranged in the coming days.

Actually, I believe they cut BUR so they can add more flights to SNA - a much better airport than BUR. They also started SAN service.

As far as YVR, it has been discussed in this forum many times that the load factors really fluctuated. Some days were packed while other days they went off empty.

They're route map is surprisingly similar to Spirit's interactive route map ... but noneless their new website looks great.

Former CEO Zander stated that SNA-OGG had the highest yields, with SNA-HNL close behind. BUR--while convenient for many--was not producing the yields that SNA was. Putting all their eggs in one basket at SNA is probably a good idea. They now have SNA departures at:
7:30a (OGG)
8:30a (HNL)
9:30a (KOA)
10:30a (OGG)
7:52p (HNL)

A pretty good array if you ask me!

I was just to about to say that. They must be done by the same web designing company.

I like the site, it is easier to use and the other site looked like they really got excited with different colors and tons of flashy links (flashy..lol that is a new word). Suits them more.

It must be designed by someone on the east coast!

"Transatlantic Fares from $179"

They must have forgot that Hawaii is in another ocean!!! I don't beleive Aloha flies over the Atlantic Big grin
