Patch? Behind 747-100 Upper Deck

Wed Apr 27, 2005 12:42 am

Does anyone know what the light colored spot behind the upper deck is in the first and second pic below? From looking at a lot of other AA 747 pics, it seems some have that spot and some don't.

I believe it wasn't metal , that's why it was a different color.

Check the pics, the first clearly has it:

This one clearly does not have it, and it's taken from the same angle:

Any other ideas?

Check the pics, the first clearly has it...This one clearly does not have it.....and if you notice, it has a different upper antenna set up. The a/c that has the 'hump' has one antenna, the one that has no 'hump' has two antennas.

The hump is a radome for an old satelite commmunications system that really didn't get going very far.
