A380 : Take Off Confirmed Wednesday At 10:30AM LT

Wed Apr 27, 2005 2:17 am

The weather forecast are perfect in Toulouse area tomorrow morning, April 27th.
French News channel LCI has just confirmed they will start a special coverage of the event at 9:00AM LT.

The take-off is scheduled at 10:30AM (Local Time) = 08:30 GMT.
All the Air space around Toulouse will be closed about 30 minutes before the A380's take off, and again around 30 minutes before its landing back at Blagnac Airport.

Hopefully it will actually occur and not encounter any delays. Any idea what networks if any in the US will cover the first flight live?

Since here in AZ we are 9 (?) hours behind you so that makes special coverage begining @ 12am MST and first flight by 130am, just in time for a clip in the morning news.

I'm sure if you turn on CNN or MSNBC at 3am or so, there probably wont be much news going on so they will probably show it. They may not have continual coverage, but I bet the takeoff and landing. They had some coverage when it rolled out so I'm sure it'll make some news.

Folks,
See this thread and my last post, in which you will find all you want to know about airbus broadcast on different satellites.
Sorry I didn't start a new thread, having already been b@ll@cked by a mod for that very same reason. A380 Flight On Wednesday (by Geizistgeil Apr 25 2005 in Civil Aviation)

The flight will last between 1h30 and 4 hours.
After take off, the A380 should head north west toward Bordeaux and the Atlantic Ocean.

Sounds to me that Airbus plans to fly the A380 while America Sleeps.

Why can't they wait a few hours and let us see it? Or is there something they are hiding...

Just kidding. We will get the video down here.

I don't know if i'm missing something, but there is just 1 hour difference between France and the UK, at the moment the UK is in GMT, and France is in GMT+1, so i can't understand why 10:30AM in Toulouse should be 8:30AM in England..... thanks for any help.....

We are no longer in GMT we are in BST - British Summer Time. BST is 1 hour a head of GMT and Continental Europe is an hour a head of that!! Back to normal end of October when we go back to GMT - winter hours.

UK is not at GMT currently. UK is at GMT+1 thanks to daylight savings, and Toulouse is GMT+2 for the same reason. GMT does not change for daylight savings, but British/French time does.

ok guys, we are in BST (British Summer Time) in England now, but it's still one hour difference with France, at the moment they are also in their "summer time", isn't it? so take off tomorrow at 9:30am for the UK, if it is at 10:30am in TLS, right?

Lucky for me, I don't have school tomorrow...so I'll probably be up at 3:30 watching it lol...and working on my research paper!

(if I did that right, 1030 - 7 = 0330)

If you think about it, Americans have a chance to see the A380 fly before Europeans! I know, it's all relative...but it's still kind of funny.

I'm getting 11:30PM Pacific Time.....I wouldn't wait until 1:30 any of you that are on the west coast. You'll miss it.

Remember the flight is at 8:30AM France time. Not 10:30. I think that's where you guys are getting your 1:30 figure from, you're confusing the original BST time with the france time.

For US members: Flight times:

Pacific Time Zone: 11:30PM

Mountain Time Zone: 12:30AM

Central Time Zone: 1:30AM

Eastern Time Zone: 2:30AM

There you go.

uhh read the beginning post. 10.30a is 3.30am and the only way I remember it is that Amsterdam is 7 hours ahead of me and it's the only place that I have been to that is 7 hours ahead of me.

Speaking of Amsterdam, do any of the Dutchmen know is NOS will be covering it?
