Martinair Finally Found 6th 767

Thu Apr 28, 2005 4:46 am

Martinair today announced the profit they made and some other interesting facts

first of all they confirmed the rumour of 5 747-400SF (ex-SQ) wich will fly for them starting in the end of 2006, replacing the 4 current 747-200 and 300 planes. They stated that they are happy, since it will be half the cost of what a new plane will cost, and that they are still young

second, they found a 6th 767-300 they were searching for a while. They will base the 767-300 in brussel for the thomas cook flights (2 year contract) so that the current AMS 767's can stay were they are

third, they will only convert 2 of the 7 MD-11's to a Pax configuration this summer, to fly the bussy vacation destinations like TFS , LIS etc. together with the 3 A320's, they will mainly do the europe work, while the 767's will fly over the atlantic mainly (except for the Thomas cook plane and some flights to the Spanish Islands)

Great news for Martinair, any Idea on the Reg. of the new 763?

Will any of the PAX MD-11's receive the new livery?

hi rob,

i think they will receive new colours when they are getting retro-fitted with seats, because mostly MP picks up MD-11's for conversion wich needed an B, C, D check anyway.....

hope this will be true...

I believe it is the same as last year?

Good to hear Martinair is growing. Its my favorite Charter airliner in Holland!
(Bummer that I fly Transvia this summer to Gran Canaria  Sad)
have a good day, Stefan van Hierden

yup , so that only means they have 1 Extra Cargo MD-11 for the summer...

Thanks MauriceB,

the 737 is on wet-lease, but from what i heard, Martinair probably won't fly own A320's/737 on long term, so i guess they will fly with Miami for a while, ore plug out in the near future...

about the A320's im not sure. those planes are relative new and aren't up for D-check yet. I also don't know if they will extand the leases....

Is there any chance for MP to return to LAX and OAK?

Are there any news that MP will be adding A320?
