Colombia Airline Help

Sat Apr 30, 2005 12:05 pm

Hello,

On Thursday April 28, 2005 I was on the ramp at U.S. Airways for take your child to work day and on the opposite side away from concourse H (where they are building the new terminal) I saw an Airline sitting there and eventually get pulled away I am pretty sure it was a 757, anyway I had read the name but have recently forgot it and wanted to see If any of you guys would be able to help me out?
I know it had a white fuselage with another color and the Tail said Colombia.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I was at the Discovery Network Latin America/Iberia building (right across from MIA, which is the airport I assume you're talking about) yesterday, and I saw it, too. It was Boeing 757-2YO EI-CEZ, in the new colours of Avianca Colombia.

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, though.

Actually it's EI-CEY.

No other Colombian Airline operates 757s.
But Tampa Cargo operates 767s and they virtually live in Miami.

Thing is Tampa cargo planes in the new livery do not say Colombia or have an orange tail. You saw a DC-8.

The thread-started never said the plane had an orange tail. Tampa's former livery, in case you're implying so, didn't say Colombia nowhere near the tail either.

If the thread-starter has something sure, is that the plane was a 757. Under that description, I cannot think of what airline could have been seen by him.

Maybe it was a Santa Barba Airlines 757-200 with Venezuela printed near the tail, and he simply got the countries confused?

If that is the aircraft you saw, it's Boeing 757-231 N720TW.

I just repeat, if it was Colombian and was a 757 it was Avianca for sure.
If it was another plane then things could really change

It was an Aerotal or Aerocondo plane..  Smile

Relax guys, why so agressive. I have one question for the thread starter though: Did you see the colombian flag or the "Colombia" word on the tail?
I miss ACES, I am proud of AVIANCA & I am loyal to AMERICAN

The only other odd Colombian arrival to MIA is Aero Republica's MD-80 that is undergoing a heavy check at Commercial Jet, but that is a far cry from a 757.
