Wow! If I understand it well the landing gear didn't come out, or partially, and it made a belly landing. 29 persons incl crew injured?

It's a bit the same language as dutch....

I think it's like this:

The plane was coming in for landing, but weather was difficult so the captain wanted a go-around, but a wind gust made the plane hit the ground at an angle breaking the landing gear off on one side. The plane then skid on its belly down the runway. No one is dead, no serious injuries. Widerøe-route 921 from Tromsø to Hammerfest had 27 passangers and a crew of three. happened today at 14:40 local time (12:40 zulu)

So glad nothing happened to the pax. Is this the first incident for Wideroe in their history?

In addition to Dreamers summary: 29 people and 3 crewmember were on board, they were all taken to a hospital for a check, but there were no physical injuries, according to the Police.

They were almost about to touch-down when the pilot decided to abort the landing. Strong winds smacked the aircraft down causing it to smack against the runway.

P.S. My Norwegian is not 100%, might be wrong on some details.

No Widerøe has had serious crashes earlier.

In Brønnøysund all pasengers/crew died in the late eighties (198x).
In Namsos there was an accident as well about the same time.

Here's a list of the accidents involving Widerøe aircraft, they've had some nasty ones through the years, but given the amount of flights and the airports they fly into, they've done well.

A lot of their flights are to rural airstrips where STOL performance is a requirement, often with difficult terrain and weather.

You've got to see some of those airports. Not quite your everyday LHR landing! Short runways, high cliffs, strong winds.

Apparently the plane skidded to a halt only 20 meters from the aviation fuel pumps. Even though Jet-A is not really highly flammable, I'd call that lucky...

Here is a resumee in English:

25 passengers and 3 crewmembers were sent to hospital after a Widerøe airchraft had problems when landing in Hammerfest yesterday.

The plane, on the way from Tromsø to Hammerfest, broke the right wheel-leg during landing, said Siw Sandvik in Widerøe to VG-nett.

According to Sandvik, the captain decided to discontinue the landing due to the variable and difficult windconditions.

But right then a strong windgust pushed the plane to the ground. Nobody was physically hurt, but many passengers were of cause scared by the incident.

The a/c involved was LN-WIK, according to people in Widerøe.

WF has had quite a few incidents within the last few years, mostly due to the extreme airports they operate into. Here is a list of the most recent ones, with link to the official accident report (in Norwegian only):

6JAN2003:LN-WIN slides off the rwy in VDS. No injuries
22NOV2001:LN-WIG hard landing in FDE. No injuries
14JUN2001:LN-WIS slides off the rwy in BJF. No injuries
11FEB2000:LN-WIL slides off rwy in HFT. No injuries

As you can see, WF has had a few incidents regarding sliding off the rwy. But you have to take into consideration the conditions of these airports.
