When it comes to flying to japan, most people in the States go to Tokyo or Osaka as those are the Big cities. Nagoya is small but the through traffic is what makes it go. It has lower landing fees and better access to domestic routes than Tokyo or KIX
The loads to SFO
are higher due to the huge promotion by travel companies here for flights to the West coast. There are more pamphlets prmoting travel to places like PHX
all through SFO
. These appeal to the Japanese tourist.
When it comes to the TPE
route, I feel it will do well. It will give competition to JO
. I believe the flight is also codeshare with NH
has become the favored airport for those flying from domestic airports like Sendai and Niigata. The connection is easier than NRT
I wonder how the AA
route is doing. I have had two groups come through on AA
and both say the flight seemed empty. Maybe AA
needs to get a 5th freedom route out. Right now the flight lines up so people can fly on to TPE
and connects to the JL
network nicely. AA
is doing well to the states because of their connection to NYC. Also Chicago is a desintation within itself.

. it is always packed. But sadly the numbers coming from Japan are low. Most is through traffic from MNL
