BA Club World - Systemwide?

Thu May 05, 2005 4:21 pm

I'm thinking of taking BA for my next vacation trip back to the states from DXB. I've taken LH/UA the last several times, however I want to try out the BA Club World product (company pays for full fare business class tickets, i choose route/airline).

My question is, am I guaranteed to get a flat bed on the route DXB-LHR-IAD and IAD-LHR-DXB. When i looked at 'seating chart' on the BA website, they still had 'cradle seat layout' as an option.

Are all the BA T7's now equiped with the flat beds?

The only T7s which maintained the cradle seats where those based at LGW and I do believe that those have been converted to the NCW with flatbeds and that left only the 767s which are currently being converted/'dusked' to include the NCW. I'm based at LHR and can't remember the cradle seats on anything other than the 767s in the past year.

Someone will hopefully point out if I'm wrong about any of this as I'm doing it all from memory at this time, having just got out of bed.

you will (assuming no last minutes equipment failure or anything) get the flat bed on the IAD - LHR stretch and the LHR- DXB stretch. The is one exception which is the BA schedule to DXB is twice daily with 747 / 777 and three / four weekly rotations using a 767. The 767 may well not have the NCW unless it has been dusked. Make sure you are booked onto a 747 / 777. I'm sure someone can give you the relevant flight codes

The 767 operating on the DXB route of late has been dusked, the 2-2-2 arrangement in NCW is    from what I have seen and heard.

As for IAD, it was one of the first routes to operate 100% NCW. If you haven't flown NCW before a wrote a recent report on an IAD trip, may be of use to you BA293/292 Club World - LHR-IAD-LHR (with Pictures) (by Fbgdavidson Apr 4 2005 in Trip Reports)

Thanks for all your help, all the codes show both flights as 777, so unless there is a crazy change of aircraft I don't see much chance in NOT getting the NCB.

Fbgdavidson, read your report, it was part of the reason why I want to try the BA offering. I take melatonin and sleep like a baby even on the moderately comfortable non flat lh and ua seats, I'm thinking i'll be out like a light if i'm laying down, plus I think i'm going to visit some friends in london on the way back here.
