Airliner Graveyard Satellite Images

Sat May 07, 2005 8:19 am

I think it's fascinating to see the boneyards on satellite images like those found on http://maps.google.com .

Let's add to the list of interesting locations!

Marana (pan around for more)

Mojave

More Mojave (Note the KLM 747s)

How often r these images updated? If often, then you can have an idea of what's in or out (mostly in to never come back out Big grin ) of those graveyards.

Fantastic Images.
Recently India launched a Sattelite that can spot an item min 6-8ft in length.
I wonder if this google maps could cover Mumbai.  Smile

There is also a airliner scrapping yard about 20 miles NE of Ardmore, OK. Does anyone know the name of this airport?

Look at all those starships getting prepped for scrapping at Marana. That's sad.

There's a map over JFK's T4, with a NWA 747-400 at the gate, what other a/c are there?

Also EWR, over Terminal C, you can see a CO777 taxiing!

The AMARC facilities look even more impressive from the ground, you just see rows and rows of never ending planes...

You can also tour the AMARC facilities, you can get the tickets at the pima air museum, one of the best airplane museums in the world:
