I've been interested over the last couple of years in how airlines are formed and what they must actually do to become an airline. More recently I have been following Ozjet and hearing a lot of information about AOC's etc.
My question is, what must an airline do, legally, to start flying and carrying passengers and freight in your country?
I also look at many of the small airlines out of Moorabbin in Melbourne and wonder if they are subject to the same rules as the big airlines. What must a 'general aviation' which lets say offers charter and freight services for regional airports do legally for it to be able to operate?
Any information or links would be great!
