I also thought that ORD wasn't able to handle the A346 on a daily basis becuase of the issues they had when IB has flown it there, but apparently LH is certified to handle the aircraft there without restrictions. Mabye it's just that IB staff just hasn't had the necessary training to handle the A346?
No- the length of the 346 means that taxiing becomes a significant issue on several parts of the field. As I alluded to in my last post, IB had a equipment sub for their customary 343 once in about September or last year, and although that went reasonably well (although it had to depart from T-5), day-in, day-out operations are not realistic at this point.

I dont see sahara going any place but its one a one way trip to going broke. All those 14 pilots who left to join AIX did so for a reason. The company as any pilot will tell you is a complete mess even big boss roy has done the dissapearing act rumored to be suffering from A cut I D epre S sion some say hes in coma in bombay. His press release in the economic times speaking of stress work load and reversible disorders is all crap hes in trouble and he knows it and so do his pilots. The exodus is going to increase and with AIX getting 4 more ac in jan 06 and offering the pilots bom/del base sahara is going to pack up this year for sure.
If this is true, isn't Sahara biting off more than they can chew with this ultra-long haul flight?
I mean, ultra-long haul isn't cut out for even many major, legacy airlines and is currently limited to a few carriers, none of which is a startup like Sahara.
I like the flight and bravado exhibited here, but I think the gradual buildup a la Jet airways was more financially sound.
