UA's Caribbean Network

Tue May 10, 2005 5:45 am

Does anyone have access to a list of all of UA's operated flights to the Caribbean? I have found their route map but I would also need the frequencies and if they are seasonal or not. Thanks!

UA is quite weak in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico is US so it can't really be compared to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago).
When UA got the Pan Am routes, they had POS via CCS from JFK; Other than POS I don't remember any real UA Caribbean destination.
I don't work for COPA Airlines!

UA's Caribbean network:

Aruba year-round to O'Hare and seasonally to Dulles.

Montego Bay seasonally to O'Hare.

San Juan year-round to O'Hare and Dulles.

St. Maarten seasonally to O'Hare (operated this year for the first time; as of now it is not in res systems for next year).

St. Thomas year-round to Dulles and O'Hare (routed IAD-STT-SJU-IAD and ORD-STT-SJU-ORD).

They also used to fly to Grand Cayman until the hurricanes struck last summer. In the past, they have also flown Miami-Port of Spain and New York/JFK-San Juan, but, overall, they are weak in the region.

Will the St. Maarten service be reinstated. I want to fly it on Dec. 17, a Saturday, and it's both convenient and giving my business to them as opposed to American.

Yeah American Airlines. The airline that has the feed and resources to offer service from Santo Domingo, San Juan, Miami, and New York.JFK on a daily basis!

I would wager to say UA relys heavily on Star Alliance partner USAir for their caribbean destinations.
Sometimes we don't realize the good times when we're in them

.. and everyone else in Star! If and When this HP/US deal goes through, expect UA to do a lot of soul searching, because its friend US, will have become its enemy overnight! Do Not expect US/HP to become a part of Star. If they do it would spell certain death for United Airlines, most definitely on the West Coast!
