Geez...everytime I'm on this site or Yahoo News, I read another big deal Boeing is getting. How many more a/c have they sold this year over Airbus.

Nothing against Airbus...fly them usually 99.9% of the time when I'm outside the US.

Best Regards.

Also, the target price for BA was increased by several analysts along with recommendation upgrades.

The orders are typically priced in to the stock price already for BA.N and EAD.PA, remember how long rumors are on this board before the actual announcement is made.

If you want to have some fun--chart BA.N and EAD.PA for the last few years and then put blips on the graph where the order announcements were. You will not see any real differences. If you have WONDA, you can do this without any manual labor.

Good news for sure with all the orders piling up. I just read Boeing is going to open another 737 line, since the backlog is now 800+; the article was in the Seattle paper online.

I guess with all those low budget airlines kicking off and especially the ones in the Middle East and Asia with one in India with making it's debut flight last month , there is going to be more orders for the B737. I wouldn't be surprised that they are opening another 737 line

I guess the 737 sales are gonna do really well this year for Boeing.

Airline is: Air-India Express - using 737-800

But they will have stiff competition from A 320 for sure... another 2 budget airline in India is the Kingfisher and they use A320. Airarabia uses A320 as well.

Would that be local, as in the Seattle area?

Does Boeing still transport fuselage section by rail from Wichita?
Wouldn't chartering the AN-225 help speed up things a bit?

It's nice to see Boeing have a good year, but are they capable of constructing so many planes within the promises given to their customers? Didn't a backlog crisis hit them a few years ago?

unless Boeing management changes, having more orders is not necessarily mean they make more money or its good for their stock as the 90s showed with their several billion $ charges when the orders were rolling in!

Hmmm, what does that place the order total across all lines at for Boeing this year? Not talking about the signed contracts, just announcements from this year.

Sounds like Boeing might have to think about adding another production line for the 787 also, delivery dates for some airlines are already in what....2010??

Boeing has significantly changed their production line and processes since their costly meltdown a number of years ago. They are in great shape to produce the 737's profitably and efficiently. There was a great article in the Wall Street Journal either yesterday or the day before outlining what Boeing have done and it's impressive. The moving 737 production line produces jets in significantly less time and at significantly less cost than used to be the case. I think they are absolutely poised to produce a large number of jets quickly and profitably. If I find the WSJ article, I'll try to post it on the forum as it is a must read IMHO.
