Etihad Airways 777 Routes

Thu May 12, 2005 4:30 am

Hi!

I sent an email regarding routes and information on Etihad's Boeing 777 that will recieve and put into service in October this year. This is the reply I got:

The 777-300ER will primarily operate our routes to South Asia and the Far East from Abu Dhabi, and will be configured in Peal and Coral Zones – actual seat plans will be posted on our website shortly. The aircraft will be equipped with our new AVOD, details of which will be announced shortly.

Best wishes

So it looks like they will fly them to BKK and perhaps HKG, MNL etc. They have five 777-300ERs on order.

What about services to LHR or LGW?

Glad to see the 77W at BKK though!

I would think they might go to JFK eventually.

They send an A340 to LGW daily( I think) and A few 330s to LHR, but they may send a 773. I'd love that...  Smile

I think that they will announce more routes to Asia; perhaps HKG, MNL and/or SIN. I also think it's likely that EY will fly their 77W to LHR as well. They will have all five before the new year.

I would think:

AUH-LHR
AUH-BKK
AUH-SIN
AUH-HKG

And maybe
AUH-JFK/EWR

Since the aircraft will only see 2 classes of service (Pearl and Coral), it proves that EY wants to use the aircraft solely on high density lower yielding medium-long haul routes out of AUH which include BKK, MNL and BOM.
