Lufthansa To Compete With LCCs

Thu May 12, 2005 10:28 pm

This is a link to an article about Lufthansa beginning an aggressive strategy to compete with LCCs.

My question is, when did Lufthansa order 737-800s?

Unless they're pulling those aircraft from one or more of it's subsidiaries, I do not know if they have ordered them. New order that may be announced soon?

This has to turned out to be a false report!

According to the following Reuters newsreport, LH is not planning an inhouse LCC strategy at the moment.

As often , journalists jump easily to hasty conclusion without any base for truth....
Would be stupid for LH to compete in-house with Germanwings - on top Boeings 737-800 would be to large to start any lowcost trials from HAM....
In german we call this "eine Presse-ente" - or a lame duck ponded by journalists....
