That hybrid livery doesn't look good. Too bad, because BMI's cool blue colors would suit a 757.

Probably a bit too much to ask, but it would be nice if The Bishop could ask the new guy Willie if he's got a couple left that haven't been sold on yet!

Those B757-236ET frames could be useful after a quick lick of paint and tart up inside the cabin

I guess the Manchester spotters are really excited over this one, for about two weeks anyway! The fare paying public will get over after about the first 20 minutes. Watch for this service to be pulled, BMI will blame something other than their own incompetence.

Manchester photographers will be excited about it until they get their first shots. The spotters won't be excited, it's not exactly a rare plane!

I don't like the colour scheme in general, but I like the tail scheme!

The rudder does not appear to be painted with the british flag.

makes it look rather peculiar.

The service generates loads which are ideally suited to either a 757 or 767. If anything I would see BD handing it over to United as it is onward connections via IAD which justify its operation.

If anything they will be able to fill the 752 up with full fare travellers and benefit from lower operating costs with the smaller aircraft. ID90 passengers filling up an A330 don't make money for anyone either.

I agree with the above statements about being annoyed if this was my plane to IAD. I fly MAN-IAD twice a year and always fly bmi.

Not anymore.

Little wonder bmi flyers aren't happy at FlyerTalk.

Yup, I too have flown MAN-IAD several times this last year, often paying premium fares. No more - I'm not paying (or more accurately having my company pay) good money to fly on that thing because I simply do not believe they will offer the same service on it. Your loss bmi - the once a year holiday makers connecting to MCO might live with it, but I think your regular customers are going to walk away.

- why not bmibaby it then?

BMIbaby - the worlds first long haul low cost carrier.

Considering (excluding ORD) all BD long haul routes are now leisure or VFR ones a BD baby concept might just work..

Couldnt bmi have leased a larger aircraft ????

I seen this aircraft at MAN on Saturday 14th, whilst waiting to board my BD flight from MAN-LHR, Even the 14 plus cabin crew from BD where surprised to see a 757-200
