Let's Name The 747 Transporter!

Sun May 15, 2005 12:27 am

OK...I have yet to see anything naming the modified 747 that Boeing is presently working on to transport 787 parts around the world.

I think we ought to help them out a little and then start a letter writing campaign before some accountant at Boeing decides to do it him/herself. I've seen several of us on these threads call it a "Beluga" or "SuperGuppy" but these are names already taken. Lets see how much creativity we actually have and then how much anyone at Boeing may pay attention, expecially since we have A.netters working there.

One idea is that we call them "Blue Whales". I'd like to hear some input....anything but the "Kobayashi Maru".  Wink

How about the Moby Dick? Big grin

Since Airbus had the Beluga... Boeing will try to make it bigger, Moby Dick sounds about right to me  Silly (and yes, I know the Beluga is an Airbus A300)

Cheers! wave

747 BAP

Big A$$ Plane. Okay maybe not, but of the military can do it with a big bomb, why can't Boeing do it with a plane.

Well the B-52 is often nicknamed "Big Ugly Fat F***er" (BUFF) so maybe VBUFF will do (Very Big...).

How about, I think it should have relevance to Jumbo - Queen of the Skies. Which the 747 is always remembered fondly as. So how about - "jumbo mumma"

There's gotta be something about the way the Queen of the Skies' tale swings open and fuselages are slipped in from behind . . . . but let's not go there!
