Thomsonfly 737 Emergency Yesterday

Tue May 17, 2005 10:18 pm

BBC News report here

A flight from Doncaster Sheffield to Alicante made an emergency landing at Barcelona due to a loss in cabin pressure. Oxygen masks dropped down and a full emergency was declared.

Typical BBC report, quoting passengers who make it sound like the world was coming to an end.

(Sorry if this has already been posted, searched but came up with nothing)

The woman who decided to phone from Alicante and notify the media of this event, which happened yesterday, was on BBC East Midlands News before, "everyone thought they were going to die" - did they really?

Very overhyped news story, especially for the BBC, as far as I can see it's a job well done.

Quote: The Thompson spokeswoman said: "As passenger safety is Thomsonfly's most important concern we will be conducting a detailed and thorough investigation of the aircraft systems."

It's Thomson. No "p".  banghead
