YEG Summer Schedule

Thu May 19, 2005 9:08 am

While YEG does see a huge increase in traffic during the summer, it appears as if flights/seats to the US have been reduced...which is kind of puzzling

UA is downgrading one of its CR7 flights to DEN to a CRJ while HP is dropping the daily LAS service to three weeklies. The only increase is a third daily to MSP...

I wonder why that is...

They probably prefer YYC, they seem to have quite a few flights.

It may not be that strange when you think about it. I think most people would tend to go to LAS outside of the summer months (it gets very hot in LAS, as Las Vegas is in the Mojave desert). As for DEN, it's possible that Skywest may be having redistribute its planes for elsewhere to accommodate for the peak summer travel period and it may not have enough of those CRJ-700s.

As for preferring YYC, it's possible, but I've heard load factors have been extremely high out of YEG for those transborber flights aboard SkyWest's and HP's CRJs.
