What Road Is It, And Where Is It?

Sun Apr 16, 2000 4:28 pm

Ok, there is this one road, I believe it is on the west coast, one out of every five miles has to be straight, so if we go to war, planes can land on the highway. So can anyone tell me what road this is, and where it is? Thanks

I've heard that it's I-5 and it's also the only one I know of that might qualify. It's the freeway that runs from Vancouver, B.C. through Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and south to the Mexican border. I can't think of any other highways on the west coast that meet the 1 in 5 mile requirement.

Actually, ANY INTERSTATE highway (at least here in CA) must and does meet the 1 in 5 requirement. In and around Los Angeles alone, the following freeways meet this criteria:
I-5: Golden State/Santa Ana Freeway
I-405: San Diego Freeway
I-10: Santa Monica/San Bernardino Freeway
I-210: Foothill Freeway
I-605: San Gabriel River Freeway
I-15: Barstow Freeway
I-215: Escondidio Freeway
I-710: Long Beach Freeway
I-110: Harbor Freeway
I-105: Century Freeway

It is ANY interstate highway. Anywhere. That's what I've heard.
