go to ba.com
Select "About my Journey"; "On board"; "Inflight entertainment"

Here's May to give you an idea. I don't know when June'll show up. There are PTV's in the seatbacks.

The PTVs in the 744 and most of the 777s is a pretty reasonable sized screen with 18 channels of video and 12 audio -- content as our colleage has listed above.

It is not AVOD, but the tape/DVD based system where the channels all start at the same time and then rewind and start again about 2.5 hours after they began. Depending on how efficient they are on board and the nuances of the flight time, you will definitely be able to watch 2 movies and possibly a third, but usually not. They tend to start the first run about an hour in and then cycle three would be (1+2.5+2.5) 6 hours in. Given that most flights to NYC are around 7h-7h10, you may be able to watch one or 2 things on the comedy channel, but not a full movie.

All classes have a moving map on channel 19.

In World Traveller Plus and above, you also get quite a few video games, but not in economy.

My parents are on that same flight in October. Ive heard that the aircraft used is the B744 in the configuration with 70-First Class seats. Go to www.seatguru.com to check it out!

It's 70 business class seats, not First. BA's 747s have either 38 or 70 business class seats.

all BA 744s have 14 First class seats in the nosecone. In the 777, there are various F configs from 0 via 14 to 16.

One good thing about BA getting AVOD (if they do) is not having to watch the damn Well Being video. If I see that one more time I won't be a well being!  Angry

agreed... it also annoys me that they wait 30-45 mins to switch the system on at all, then you half an hour of preview/wellbeing guff and it's well over an hour before the first movie starts... this means that they can only really fit 2 movies in on a East Coast flight. But with AVOD, if they swiched it on 20 mins after T/O, you could easily watch three movies on these flights. I always hate taking a punt on whether to start the third programming, b/c it is in the lap of the gods as to whether you'll just be getting into something and it stops. 7h10m should be more than enough to watch 3 movies.
