ATA 737-500's

I was looking at ATA's MDW-DFW schedule's for this summer and noticed some of the flights are showing 737-500's. I assume these will be operated with WN 735's, but will they have ATA title's or colors, or just normal WN?

TZ is acquiring 737-300s and -500s this year. I am not sure where they are coming from, but not WN. At least not without going through a leasing company first.

From what I remember, they're ex-United birds.

My friend also told me that they are going to be able to keep more than just the 3-4 753's .. maybe as many as 7-8 of them.. which is very good news since the L10's are pretty archaic. He also said they were told that the company is looking for used DC10's and/or 742's to replace the L10's.. they can't find 767's with the GE engines for lease apparently.
Maintain 2300 until Boiler, cleared for the VOR-A approach, report BATLE inbound..

Yeah, right. TZ flying WN birds to/from DFW. With all the BS the DFW Airport Board puts out (for AA) about how WN should move to DFW from DAL to "relieve WN" of the penilties of the Wright Admendment and stop "compitition" from DAL, that will confuse the public. javascript:smilie_click('eyepopping')

WN is helping TZ, but they are not that stupid. javascript:smilie_click('banghead')

They will be all former UA birds. I hope they get them painted before using them. ?:-l

They shock me! The 735 is so badly performing for CO in this low yield environment that they have re-configed it a few times now. They should of just opted for more 733s. The 733 gives more capasity at around the same cost.

CO had over Premiumed the 500 with under 100 coach seats in a 10/94 setup. It was out of line with their fleet (and not space efficient). Good for elite members, but not for revenue (I used to love that I was on a 500 for that reason, as upgrade was very likely even for little Silver me).

So they are first just removing a row of First Class and adding 2 rows of coach to make 6/106. And then as the planes go in for longer servicing, they will reconfigure the front galley and closet to add back two first seats to end with 8/106.

The ultimate result is two fewer first seats and 12 coach added. Not a bad revenue reallocation. Also likely since they no longer serve real meals on most 735 routes, they don't need as much galley space...

I could also see them doing a similar thing on the 300/700 in the future, going from 12/112 to 8/124. And their 800 could easily change to 12/153, the 900 to 16/158.
