In reality, the daily 764 to GIG probably arrives less than half full on most days.
Disagree. I talk to some friends that works in Petrobras and Halliburton in Rio and they confirm to me that CO
arrive in Rio with more than 65% (and with the most C pax) on a daily basis. There are some pax from Newark that connects at GRU
but mainly IAH
pax heading to GIG
Remember, Rio de Janeiro is the HQ
oil corporations and even several other corporate in the drilling/extraction/naval machinery and ALL
shipyards. Petrobras, Shell, Ipiranga, Texaco, Exxon/Esso, Halliburton, Amerada, Gulf, Total, ENI
Agip, British Gas, El Paso and more than 300 (three hundred) American mid size business in Rio/Macae. Only Petrobras with their more than 50,000 highly paid professionals (more than 5,000 involved in Extract & Drilling) and it's research center (called CENPES and located in Rio too) with more 2,000 top paid employees in Research (Petrobras is the world's leader in high-deeply water drilling technologies) creates significant demand but the others keeps the demand strong.
