US TransAtlantic Streak

Mon May 30, 2005 7:16 am

As of May 27, US completed 1,500 transatlantic flights without a cancellation. That's 64 days in a row with a 100% completion rate. Not bad for a carrier that is supposedly "a mess".

I agree. US has been doing a fantastic job lately. They have put an emphasis on getting planes out on time and it has paid off.

It's great to see an airline emphasizing flying planes, since that is what they do, right?  Wink

The latest figures I've seen have overall US TransAtlantic load factors running at about 90.1% almost on a daily basis. I don't know LGW load factors alone.

Just like with cars, its not just about getting from point A to point B but HOW you are doing so. Same thing applies to airlines. Yes, they fly but their performance schedule and service wise makes all the difference.

I just flew US to MCO on Wednesday and back yesterday. They were literally the best flights I've ever been on. I've never had better service or flight attendants who seemed so eager to do their jobs on a domestic flight before. How many NW customers can say that  Wink? I want to congratulate US on doing an excellent job fine-tuning their services. There is nothing else to say, except good luck with the HP merger!

Also, a little off topic, but I was delayed in PHL yesterday due to a plane that had an emergency. I was sitting beside the runway and saw the 757 come in veeeeery long, to be met by fire trucks. Anyone know why the flight crew of the aircraft requested them?

Actually I've had a lot of our passengers say that they enjoyed their flight. I kina find your statement to be irrelevant.

Don't forget this one too...

MidAtlantic Airways has also posted strong completion
statistics. On Thursday, MidAtlantic achieved its
tenth 100 percent completion day in May and its 32nd
100 percent completion day this year.

and...

Completion (departures) 99.9%

Kudos to US. It's good to hear some good news from their corner. Their employees have been through hell the last couple of years. Maybe the old saying is true - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.  Smile Here's to a better year at US (and all the airlines)!

Hats off to US Airways. I like to hear good things about them.. Far too often is there a negative overtone when talking about US.... Good luck to them....
There is something special about planes....

Ever heard of a joke? I like and fly NW often, for your information. I wouldn't fly them if I was treated like crap.

With the exception of one nasty agent at DCA, I've enjoyed every US employee that I've come into contact with. They truly do have great employees and great planes...Let's hope the merger let's them make the changes necessary to survive in the longrun.
