A380 In LHR?

Tue May 31, 2005 3:56 am

I was looking out my window and noticed this aircraft on approach to Heathrow... 30/05 about 19:45. At first i thought it was an 747 SP... but at closer look... i think it was an A380. Did i dream or was it reality? IF so... what is it doing in LHR?

Here are my guesses, if the A380 did indeed arrive at LHR, IM sure there will be photos very soon. . . But Im going with one of the below widebodys. . .

19.40 BA238 BOSTON LANDED 1934
19.45 BA325 PARIS CDG EXPECTED 2003
19.45 CX1224 GLASGOW EXPECTED 2030
19.50 SK533 STOCKHOLM LANDED 1952
19.55 SU582 TOKYO VIA
MOSCOW EXPECTED 2012

Maybe a A340 with flatulence?

Perhaps a test flight with first time landing at an other airport than TLS. But I doubt that they would choose such a busy airport like LHR.

You dreamed. The A380 has not landed on any other Airport than TLS yet.

Yes it is neck and neck between the beluga and the A380 for the king of the slaphead crown!

A 4 engine Beluga maybe?

Anyway, I doubt they will bring the A380 at LHR without announcing it, the flight-test campaign has just begun, there is no way they will bring it around yet.

The demonstration flights will be held late this year - early 2006 if I recall correctly... Until then it's gonna be a lot of TLS-TLS flights... with maybe some flights to XFW (e.g. interior fitting?)...

I saw some telex at my work that it may visit CDG during nighttime and this would cause specific runway closure. But of course I don't know more about this...  Confused Dates mentioned were May 30/31 indeed! So I may be true it visits LHR as well? Who tells more?

Perhaps you had the time wrong and saw an IL-82 - they look very stumpy, and have 4 engines.

Other than that, insanity.
